Finance Department

Finance department is headed by Council Treasurer. This department is responsible for revenue mobilization, accounting and management of financial resources, investment and valuation of property within the Council area. It comprises of the Five sections as follows: –

Accountancy section is responsible for the following;

i). Responsible for financial accounting and management so that all accounting transactions are in accordance with financial regulations.

ii). Producing financial reports for both internal and external users.

iii). Management of the payroll

iv). Monitoring the expenditure of Council resources by departments in the Council.

 

Revenue Section  

i). Responsible for collection of revenue covering inter alia, sundry debtors, market levies, car park, house rents/rates and bus station levies

 

Information Technology

i). Responsible for software and hardware development and maintenance, including database management and network administration.

 

Business Development Section

i). Responsible for promoting trade and investment in the local community. Currently, the Council is running a Lodge, restaurant, financial services Centre.
